Garage Door Manual Release Lock

It could happen for any number of reasons but some people have trouble figuring out how to reconnect the door to the automated system.

Once the lever is disengaged you should be able to open and close your garage door by hand. Manually move the garage door and return to down position. Drive the car inside the garage and put the garage door down. For screw drive models the shuttle release lever will be engaged and in the up position see image 1 below.

The emergency release cord disconnects the trolley through attachment point from the opener carriage so that the door can slide along the track without the automated carriage. Universal emergency key release lock switch will work with all garage doors and garage door openers. Lift the garage door open until it stops moving. When the key is turned the body of the lock can be pulled through the door bringing the cable with it.

This allows you to manually open and close the garage door.
